Ok I know the pump is on the left side....and it says remove timing cover....is their a timin cover for both sides of the engine? Do I have to remove both or just the side where the pump is? Does anyone else have to come off like the cam towers?

Im just trying to get a feel for exactly what has to come off before i dive into this project.....Cause honestlyi m not paying a shop to do it.

if you really don't know.....you should not do it yourself.

Based on your ?'s......I would recomend you take it in and have a shop do it.

why would there be 2 timing chain covers?

Seriously....TAKE IT IN. Just trying to save you some trouble.

yeah lash is right, its better to get the shop to do it, its not a hard job doing the pump but its time consuming and a pita, you have to remove the coolent resevoir, tming chain cover, and to get some of the bolts off you have to lift the motor and then get them like that, if i remember correctly you have to remove the motor mount on that side, basically itll take 7 - 8 hours to do if your new at doing this, we did a timing chain tensioner in 4.5 hours and the smae basic process is required.

oh and to get most of the stuff out you need to remove the inner fender well and work from there and i cant remeber if the crank pulley or not ocmes of, been a couple years since ive been down there, but its definatly a job i wouldnt want to do again but would just to save the hundreds of dollars
