well i'm on my way to work when iget behind traffic, go around a turn, go to pass the guy after the turn, pull over, drop it into second then floor it....well i have shit for power, like half oh what i should....so i pull back then pull off the road as soon as possible...pop the engine and its got a loud ass tick, doesnt sound like its coming from the timing chain...more like the back side of the middle of the engine.
call dad, he takes it home while i'm at work.
get home...hes checking out the pistons...they all have pressure
then we check out the oil pressure (because the light would come on when you put the clutch in while driving)...it has pressure but its about 35 and its bouncy....so we thought maybe the oil pump is going out, but that doesnt explain the loud click/ticking noise, or even the lack of power really....... :banghead:
so suggestions please.

if oil pressure is low and pump isn't doing what it should wouldn't the top end be kinda starved for power and lube and make a kinda ticking noise? I don't know man just my half a cent lol.

I think the ticking noise would actually be a good indicator that it isn't getting oil if your oil pressure is low.

Exacty.....if your pump is going or gone, then the top end isnt being lubricated at all since there is no real way for the oil to make its way back up.....so its gonna start grinding metal to metal on some parts. Its either the valves or pistons ticking id ssay

well the oil pressure was up today...tore the top end off (just down to the head)...the lifters look rough on the bottom side, some cracks and what not...so we are gonna replace those see if that does anything....who knows...hope its nothing too bad

ya, but your gonna need the new ecm and your gonna have to wire your knock sensor a little differently... other than that, you'll be ok. Either that or just use the new harness.

the knock sensor is the only one you'll really have problems because the way it mounts to the block changed. check on the org there was a guy a while ago who just welded on the correct thread to the knock sensor to screw into the block
