I recently had my '93 HO Quad 4 rebuilt b/c a connecting rod bearing decided to go on me.

Anyways, it's been a few weeks since i've had the car back, and there's a slightly rough idle. If you go back and listen to the sound out of the mufflers, it's like a sputtering sound.

I checked the plugs...and they're the old plugs. Damn shop was too cheap to replace the plugs.

I was wondering what could be the cause of my rough idle.

I haven't replaced the plugs yet...but the plugs are still fairly new...with about 25,000-30,000 kms on them.

Any ideas?

Oh, i also checked the gapping of the plugs...they're fine.
I also took out the resonator tubing from the factory intake system. And i'm running a Hypertech Powerchip, w/180-degree Thermostat.

replace your plugs, and check your coils and boots. If a boot is cracked, replace it. You have a miss, its in the timeing.

if the plugs are still old, chances are your o2 sensor is old as well. you might want to try replacing that if the plugs/boots/coils/housing aren't causing the problem.

Sorry it's been a while...
But the problem with my rough idle turned out to be a leaking fuel injector.
