I've got a 91 Beretta GTZ with a quad 4 and it's been running fine
with no problems. I drove it into work yesterday with no issues but when I started it up later the engine revved up to 2500 rpm and that's where it's idling. I can drive the car but it won't idle
lower than 2500. The SES light comes on but when I try to pull the
codes it won't blink any codes, not even the basic code 12. I
checked for vacuum leaks and everything seems ok. I'm concerned that something happened to the computer since it won't give me any codes.

Any thoughts?

thanks - Jim

Jim,
check the Throttle Body and TPS sensor, and the power brake
hose.

something sounds fishey when youve got a 2500rpm idle and a SES light that doesnt store any codes is on.I would definately look for a ECM problem but before that check to make sure stuff like your IAC and TPS are plugged in and if they are then spray the mating surfaces of the manifold with water and watch for change in condition.

Followup:

I replaced the ECM with my spare and now it runs great. The spare has a W41 chip so maybe I'll just leave it in. :)
