Check it out. A highly skilled graphic artist, who is a member of this site and who has requested to go unnamed, designed a hot new site banner! And Josh has made a new theme to match!

I have it all under control. The people who made this theme didn't do it the way I would have, so I am changing all of their things. I am just using it as a base and adding what I want to it ;)

please dear god can i change the color? it looks like someone shit all over my computer screen!

the banner is WAY too busy. i dont like the italics or the different fonts mixed together. you dont need 3 or 4 different fonts in one banner. its just too much. i dont like that the word "THE" is in all caps to denote emphasis. its all just way to busy. it detracts from the overall idea. the cutaway Quad4 is ok, but there might be a better version floating somewhere. maybe get rid of the background scribble or whatever and introduce a neutral color and standardize the font for the enitre banner. it would look a bit more clean.

i do like the gentle fade for the typing area. nice touch.

rd font under the admin listing is very hard to read against the brown. might wanna address that too.

I guess in the banner the "THE" would be better as an "A" and the Italics on the Title should be non and the "THE community for ......" should be italic. But who cares I'll get used to it lol

Josh, i put the negative on it. i think id be more pissed that no one else put good rating than 1 person putting a lone bad one. <shrug> at least i did something.

i thought that the color scheme was repulsive and the banner was far too busy. i would rather you know how i feel about it than kiss your ass and tell you how good it looked.

i fully appreciate the hard work and time spent on the setup, but i felt it could have been handled slightly different. thats my opinion and i dont mean for anyone to be offended by it. if anyone was offended, i apologize. rest assured if we were all standing around shoting the shit, id say the same things. i can be blutally honest at times. :(

i wish i knew more about graphics programs, im a talented artist myself. i just cant use the graphics programs. i have to give all that criticism and not offer anything in return. [ you know, if you see a problem, have a solution before you point out the faults kinda thing. ] the color was the major issue for me. that couldve been taken care of. but some of the other things were hard to read or couldnt really be read at all. im all for change, dont get me wrong. but i dont think change is good _everytime_.

hey josh, can you change the little icon by the post date/time on the post? something that shows up a little better (it used to be orange or yellow or something (a couple days ago)... something more different from the other "read post" icon, at least... as i scroll past in a hurry, it's hard to notice the difference sometimes :)

And studying it, I realized it was light text on dark background -- I think I like dark text on light background -- easier to read. So I'm confused -- are you back to using the "new" ("Use Forum Default") skin?? Because the "vBbulletin" skin shows the older banner.

I felt the stuff right out of the box was too bland for my tastes. So I had to do what Emeril does and BAM! If you think about Quad4forums.com has had the same theme ever since I started it, so it needed a overhaul.

guess you can't make everyone happy. i liked it. i wish he didn't change it to grey on black. now it looks too quiet.

i think i'll make another banner for the lighter themes, something less "busy" looking and with a steady font.

yeah, but since it's a proper noun (it's a single word on the idi cover) i made it one word. it's not just a twin cam engine its the "Twincam."

possibly substiture a W41 IDI instead of a HO?

Do you know how HARD it is to find a picture of a 2.4L TWIN CAM engine when you want one??? :) 90BerettaGTZ is right, it is two words, but it's not a huge space between them. So whatever. The capital C is better than the small C, I'll give you that credit. :)
