I'm piiiissseeed! Just looked at the oil in my car and theres water in it again! Just got the new head installed about 2 weeks ago and it continues to blow white smoke. Didn't want to believe that it was water, but now I'm sure. I guess next weekend I'll be tearing out the whole motor :Bah
You guys heard of many of the blocks being cracked?
:Bah :Bah :Bah :Bah

Nope...but it could happen.
Is it a brand new head? Or used? was it milled and pressure checked?

our blocks are pretty stout... they're not prone to breakage but like drscx said, it could happen. who installed the head for you?? i personally have a bad feeling its something related to the head or head gasket.

strange that a block would crack, quad blocks are pretty much bomb proof, even the internals are pretty bad ass, i blew a headgasket twice within 3 months and both times i had to drive it around with the temp needle buried, im still using the same bottom and it still runs fine, bearings are all good.

It can leak into the oil from the water pump as well.

Thanks for the thought, but I changed the water pump when I changed the head. Just cause it was right there.
O.K. Heres another thang that has bothered me since I put it in.
I called the dealer and got a casting #. It was 24570716. The # on the block I got from Performance clinic was different. It was like 22.... I don't remember, but the guy at Performance clinic asured me it was the right one cause it was the same as the one on it. I don't dout that it was the same. I dout it was done right the first time.
Anyways if you guys could let me in on what #'s are good and what are not for my W41. Please do
Thanks

For your '92, the cylinder head casting number should end in 086.

Any Quad block other than 95 will work. Maybe you have a cracked head, or the head bolts didnt get torqed properly.
